How to stay with us

Ronald McDonald House Ann Arbor has two Houses that provide a supportive place for families of children 21 years of age and younger receiving treatment at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.

The Main House, located a short walk from C. S. Mott Children’s Hospital, has 31 guest rooms with private bathrooms available to families.

The Mott House, located on the 10th floor of C S. Mott Children’s Hospital, has 12 guest rooms available for a short-term stay for adult caregivers of patients being treated in one of the intensive care units.

Arranging Your Stay

The Ronald McDonald House staff and hospital social workers work closely together to meet the unique needs of each family. If you do not have a social worker, please call our Main House at (734) 994-4442 for assistance.

Families are offered a room based on availability. Your social worker will be contacted when there is a room available. Once a room is offered, it is available to you for the duration of your child’s hospitalization.

We do our best to accommodate all families. However, we are not able to guarantee a room for everyone on the waitlist. Alternate accommodations are available through the University of Michigan Patient Accommodations Department. You may contact them by calling (800) 544-8684.

Eligible guests:

  • Limited to two registered parents or legal guardians of the patient.
    • In the absence of a second parent, the hospital-approved caregiver is eligible.
    • Available only to the person(s) referred before check-in for the duration of stay.
  • Siblings are allowed to stay and/or visit in the Main House.

Criminal Background Check Policy:

Ronald McDonald House Ann Arbor places a high value on the safety and welfare of its residents and their families. We conduct a formal criminal history background check on all individuals 18 years and older applying for temporary residence at our House. Once completed, background checks will remain on file for one year. Returning families must submit a new background annually to stay with us.

We will not admit any individual who provides false, incomplete, or misleading responses during the formal criminal history background check.

Ronald McDonald House Ann Arbor reserves the right to deny lodging to any individual with an open warrant for arrest and/or a criminal conviction record that reveals behavior that may adversely affect another individual’s health, safety, welfare, and ability to peacefully enjoy staying in the House.

We also reserve the right to revoke privileges from a guest for any inappropriate, irresponsible, or criminal behavior that takes place while temporarily residing at the House.

Ronald McDonald House Ann Arbor uses a third-party agency to conduct its criminal background checks at no cost to guest families.
